Munnar 
Munnar, was the most well-liked summer resorts during the British supremacy and is still a very well recognized hill station. Positioned at an altitude of 1800m above sea level, this ‘Kashmir of the East’ is the foremost hill resort in the State.
The cool weather here is ideal for cultivating tea. It is home to one of the major tea plantations in the world- the Kannan Devan Tea Plantations. The sight of mist-topped tea plantations stretch across acres of Munnar, is indeed calming to the eye.
The most impressive view would certainly be that of thousands of the exotic blue flower- Neelakurinji, that inundate the hills every 12 years. Countless lovely spots are ideal for rock climbing and trekking as well. The noisy waterfalls, gurgling streams and rows of tiny cottages add more life and colour to the glowing picturesque spot of Munnar.

Thekkady
One of the finest wildlife sanctuaries of the nation, Thekkady is inclusive with exotic flora, fauna, and evergreen forest. The vast area of 777 sq kms of forest has a beautiful sanctuary in it, and is the biggest in India. It has earned a unique place as one of the hotspots on any tourist’s agenda.
The 360sq kms of thick forest in the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary offers residence to a ample variety of notable birds like Malabar Grey Hornbill, Grey Jungle Fowl, Heron, Egret, Jungle Myna, Wood Pecker, Rose Winged and Blue Winged Parakeet, Ceylon Frog-Mouth and Rose Billed Roller. The fascinating spot where guests can often spot countless kinds of wild animals is also a renowned Tiger reserve. The guided tours approved by the sanctuary offer opportunities to observe these animals at close residence. Walks through the acres of plantations and up the hilly area give outstanding trekking opportunities. The Periyar River surrounds a huge part of the sanctuary. Distant from the numerous varieties of fish here, the river is also distinguished for the extended lovely boat rides that are arranged by the sanctuary. These rides are a further brilliant method to find out the innumerable flora and fauna that flourish in and around the water. Rowing along the marvelously created Mullaperiyar dam, one can always manage to mark herds of wild elephants frolicking in the river water.

Alleppey

 Alappuzha is a district of immense natural beauty with the Arabian Sea on the west and a vast network of lakes, lagoons and fresh water rivers crisscrossing it. Referred to as the Venice of the east by travelers from across the world, this backwater country is also home to diverse animal and bird life. By virtue of its proximity to the sea, the town has always enjoyed an exclusive place in the marine history of Kerala. Now, Alappuzha (Alleppey) has grown-up in significance as a backwater tourist Place, & famed for its boat races, houseboat Cruises, beaches, marine products and coir business.



Kovalam:

It is a worldwide prominent beach destination of Trivandrum and is strewn with the coconut groves that make it a tropical heaven. Kovalam is residence to three amazing beaches divided by rocky outcrops. These beaches are excellent for the travelers who want to take pleasure in the seaside and water activities such as swimming.
Kovalam is located in the district of Thiruvananthapuram at a distance of thirteen kilometers. It claims high tourist footfalls yearly between September and March and is almost certainly, the most renowned tourist destination of God’s Own Country. A right turn from the Kovalam junction will take you to the splendid beaches of Hawa or Eve, Ashok and Lighthouse. This road again branches out into two- while a turn on the left leads towards the Lighthouse beach and the Hawa Beach, walk down the straight path to soak in the pleasures of the Ashok beach.
This paradise on earth literally means an orchard of coconuts. The coconut tree lined beaches of the sun-kissed Eden lends this tourist haunt an enrapturing glory.
This enchanting hamlet was at first a fishing settlement, decorated with fabulous beaches. The arrival of the flower child brigade changed Kovalam forever.  Kumarakom
12 kms west of Kottayam town is this small village Kumarakom, which has a stunning bird sanctuary on the banks of the Vembanad Lake and is an idyllic place for backwater cruises. The 14-acre sanctuary is an ornithologist’s heaven and a favorite haunt of migratory birds like Siberian stork, Egret darter, Heron and Teal. There are also different varieties of local birds like waterfowl, wild duck, cuckoo, owl, water ducketc. The sanctuary is open from 10.00 am to 6.00 pm and the best months to bird watch are between June and August. Near to the sanctuary, in the beautifully wooded ground near the backwaters, is coconut lagoon heritage resort, which is one of India’s most discrete holiday destinations. Guests stay in genuine ‘Tharawad’ (traditional wooden) cottages and adore this unique culture.

 Cochin
The best part of Cochin is a boat ride through the backwaters to all the islands. The most stunning of all the islands is Bolgatty built by the Dutch. Today it has been renewed into a hotel run by Kerala Tourism Development Corporation.
